Per silentia

Arte Sella (TN)2015

A pool runs the length of an Alpine hut. A sequence of impulses creates ripples on the surface of the water: tiny waves emerge from the deep, initiating their journey under a beam of light that illuminates their outlines and reflects them onto a veil hanging in mid-air; like a musical score created to be seen, but not heard.

Whether it’s in mathematical shapes or in the effect of two opposing forces, the waves explore that indefinable threshold beyond which chaos is unveiled and becomes order. During their long journey along the strip of water, the ripples merge into one another in a complex figure of disturbance. Then, as the surrounding structure gradually loses width, the ripples are softened, until they achieve absolute stillness.
