PER SILENTIA III
2024-2025
Basilica Palladiana, Vicenza - as part of the exhibition:
"Tre capolavori a Vicenza
Leonardo da Vinci, Jacopo Bassano, Gianandrea Gazzola"

The reflection of a water basin is projected onto two large screens, where sounds below the threshold of audibility ripple the surface.
Ten thin metal blades are set in motion at one end of the basin by these extremely low-frequency sounds, following a score that generates interference patterns between different frequencies.
These blades transmit their movement to the water, which, illuminated by two powerful beams of light, reflects its undulations onto the two vertical surfaces, visible from both sides.
A dialogue is established between the two screens, similar to the interplay in music between two “antiphonal” choirs. This is a score that does not produce sound but is offered to the eye.
